John Moralles : " your phraseology is rather teleological and implies volitional agency. (My bold)
Perhaps “outcomes” and “processes” would’ve been better word choices "

Quite correct, John. Thanks .

Galloway, excellent comment, but

VD: ” . . . but it (Christian atheism) cannot reasonably be described as having its ultimate basis in reason because it has no essential foundation of its own. ”

Of course it does - survival of the individual and survival of the species, both constructs of Darwinian evolutionary programming.

VD: " Although not an atheist, Hitler fully subscribed
to this philosophy, which is why he is often confused with one; in truth, his paganism was more true to the philosophy's source than the atheist variants of Lenin, Mao, and the many other communist killers. "

Although not as strident on this point as he once was, nevertheless, in Vox's mind communist = atheist = mass murderers. If most communists are atheists but most atheists are not communists, then the 'key' word in this mass murder correlation is communist, NOT atheist. Otherwise, there would be a clear and discernible difference between the criminal proclivity of atheists and christians. And there is NONE.

Of course it does - survival of the individual and survival of the species, both constructs of Darwinian evolutionary programming.

VD: " It is the towering narcissism that follows from his strict and logical devotion to pure rational materialism which causes the rational atheist to disavow his connection to humanity and calmly embark on a well-reasoned descent into inhuman madness. "

Not just madness, mind you, but 'inhuman' madness. I know lots of atheists and granted, some are a bit weird, but INHUMAN madness? Where does Vox get this stuff? Where's the data? And since when have atheists disavowed our connection to humanity?
And before Vox starts to fling charges of rational materialism: the last time I checked it was mostly christians out in the malls trying to buy their way out of the Christmas doldrums.
