Ah yes, the Nazis. Isn't it time somebody competent worked out
a. how many churchgoing Christians must have helped vote Hitler into power and
b. how many Nazi party members were churchgoing Christians?

In both cases the number comfortably ran into tens of millions, I would guess. Of course, most Germans were forced to become NSDAP members, but so what? If Christianity was such a potent moral force, Germany - being a far more godly nation than, say, Britain - wouldn't have turned Nazi in the first place.

Correct. I agree that measuring morality/family values based on numbers of marriages/divorces/children had is pretty problematic. First one needs to agree that any of these things are superior to their opposites, which is an assertion that is easily disputable.

"It is certainly a quixotic assertion, considering that these family values atheists are half as likely to get married, twice as likely to divorce, and have fewer children than any other group in the United States."

Translation: Family values atheists are less likely to make a commitment they're not prepared for, less likely to tolerate a toxic/abusive relationship, and not having more children than they can reasonably support. What's wrong with that?
