Some of the Apologists are getting a little to whiney. Most scientists couldn't care less about religion one way or another. It's the fundies who seem worried. If their faith is so damn strong, why are they so scared?

As a scientist and atheist I am not afraid at all of science reaching a "friendly rapprochement" with Christianity (or any other religion).

It's true that recently my views on religion have become a lot less tolerant - perhaps slightly unfairly so - but I think that this reaction is due to the recent emergence of massively-funded media-savvy politically-influential evangelical groups who threaten to gain real power in certain parts of the world.

New Atheism seems to have grown in response to that, and so for this guy to come out and complain about it is a bit like if I walked into a bar, punched a rugby player, and then laughed at how violent rugby players were (from my hospital bed).
